The main shareholder of UCB is the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT-ND). The bank has however extended ownership to individuals and other entities.
- Most of these are ordinary Tanzanians, a large number of whom are affiliated in different religions.
- The bank’s overall goal is to “Consolidate the presence of UCB as a vibrant Commercial bank in Northern Tanzania by enhancing the depth of outreach and providing products and services that respond to the target market and provide friendly state of the art of commercial banking services to all its multi-cultural customers”
- It is the desire of the shareholders of UCB Ltd to increase its share capital by tenfold over the next five years. That requires raising an additional Tanzanian Shillings 7 billion, by 2017.Each share is worth Tzs 1,000, but to be recognized as a shareholder under the umbrella of ELCT-ND an investor should buy over 100 shares.
- Strategic investors who can inject shares up to TZS 1 billion are also invited. With such strategic shareholders a Memorandum of Understanding will be drawn up with The Registered Trustees of ELCT-ND.
Anyone desiring to be a shareholder of UCB Ltd under the above arrangement may obtain the necessary Share Application Form from UCB Ltd Head Office (Opposite Bus Terminal, Moshi) or ELCT-ND Offices in Moshi Lutheran Centre or download the form from our website.
